Coastal Lavender BnB Nightmare

Everybody is always presenting the most likable posts.

I loved and enjoyed running the BnB until Transport Canada decided the transform the Salish Sea into an industrial annex of the port of Vancouver.

We ended up having up to 6 freighters anchoring less than 500 meters from the coastline.

These freighters have been seen poaching, pouring liquid in the ocean, throwing all kinds of stuff overboard, illuminating the sea like a 10-story city light building, having constant generators up and running 20/7 up to 74 dB, and more.

And the worse, their anchor chains are scouring the sea bed up to 1,200 yards diameter.

And, of course, Transport Canada did not offer any surveillance and control. And no financial compensation for all the coastal residents that have been impacted.

So we have decided to close the BnB, and the house is for sale.
Tourists want a nice and quiet area. They do not wish to lodge in an industrial port.

From a proud Canadian, I felt ashamed by the decision and action of Transport Canada.

We decided it was time to say Good Bye to our Canadian adventure.
